Here I am again, only 4 months after my last update. I guess a few important changes have occurred in my life. First off, I actually got myself a real job. A big person job. A 9-5, wear nice clothes and shower everyday job. Without revealing too much, all I will say is it is in downtown Minneapolis and I actually enjoy it. I love the skyways and being able to get to Taco Bell, McDonalds, and Target without having to go outside. That being said, it is only temp job and will be over soon.
In other news, we are finalizing our plans to move out of the house. It will be the end of an era. While Zak moved in with work friends, Bob and I will be moving into a house Bob is buying. The plan is to close on March 19th and be out of our current house by the end of March. It will be a big adjustment.
In moving, we have decided it is easier to give away all of our stuff and get new stuff than it would be to move it all. Therefore, anyone interested in any of our furniture should call or email me. Under no circumstances will I help carry anything out. I am too pretty for manual labor.
One last quick note: For all you poker players out there, our online league is back and we will be playing every Sunday night at 8. Check out PokerRubes.com for more info. There is no better way to spend $10 on Sunday while listening to me trash talk about how great I am.
The End.

I know I haven't updated this very often lately. I don't feel as though it was because of a lack of motivation, but rather a lack of anything interesting to talk about. I was just sort of coasting through life.
That all changed last week when we went on our Aruba trip. For those who don't know, last summer Pony won an entry into the Aruba Poker Classic, so we had to go down and watch him play. A week in the sun sounded like a great idea.
I was a little bit angry about how the trip started. It was my first time flying American Airlines and they started out with 2 delays. After another delay checking into the hotel, we ended up missing the opening party and the free booze and food associated with it. We ended up just going to the bar where the party had migrated to. Though the bar was really expensive, it was cool to relax at the bar with some of the most well known poker players in the world.
Most of the week was filled with laying by the pool and drinking at night, though my favorite part of the trip was when we went on an island adventure. We basically got in the car and tried driving around the island on a rocky dirt road. We stopped and got out every time we saw something exciting. Luckily for us we had rented a Toyota Yaris, which many people consider to be the Asian version of the Hummer, to get us over the big rocks. Apparently pavement is a luxury item on the northern part of the island.
The one thing I got out of the trip is how incredibly lazy Arubians are. The rental car lady informed us on Day 1 that people on the island don't care about anything, and I soon saw what she meant. First off, most stores closed by 6, and liquor stores were closed by 8. The hotel bar shut down by 1 every night. I was told this was because Arubians don't like to work late, so they simply choose not to. Everywhere we ate (Taco Bell, McDonalds, Burger King), the service was about half as fast as in the U.S. I have never seen slower people than the girl behind the Burger King counter. I have never waited longer at the McDonald's drive through. Servers and bartenders were no better, and a 17% tip was always included in the bill. I know it was a vacation and I should be relaxed about these types of things, but I simply couldn't believe it. I would like to vote them as the world's laziest country.
I just realized I have done nothing but complain up to this point and I don't want anyone to get the impression that I did not have a good time. The trip was great. I really enjoyed the change in scenery and the distraction from thinking about bar exam results. Though I said the island adventure was the best part, I must now change my answer to the party that happened on the last day. It is one of the top 2 parties I have ever been to. There was more free booze and food than I would have ever imagined. Everyone was fun and it was an amazing time. My favorite part was an older lady walking around passing out tequila shots. Now I am not a fan of tequila in any way, but when you have a fun old lady telling you to take a free shot I don't know how you say no. She even took it with us and hunted me down when I told her I shouldn't have any more. The party was also really weird because of the number of big poker players there and how accessible they were. We got pictures with Phil Hellmuth and Emily and Rachel danced with him. Mike Matusow and Annie Duke were hanging out and took pictures with us. I usually don't care too much about celebrities, and poker celebrities are at the bottom of the barrel in my book, but I couldn't help but be in a little bit of awe when I was standing there talking to some random lady and Phil Hellmuth comes over to say hi because he is her friend. It was just an amazing party with a ton of booze and food, everyone was having a good time, and it didn't cost a penny. It was a great way to end the trip.
Back to complaining.... On the way back our flight was delayed two more times and they lost most of our luggage. I only care because I felt the first times must have been flukes so I bet Pony we wouldn't be delayed more than a half hour. I though I was golden when everyone was on the plane 10 minutes before the scheduled departure, which gave me 40 minutes of time on the bet. Needless to say, I lost by almost a half hour when the plane didn't leave the ground until nearly an hour after the scheduled time. On 2 of the 4 flights, most of the plane started clapping when we started to move because it had taken so long. I am going back to flying with NWA from now on.
In other news, I got my bar exam results on the morning before the last party. I can't even imagine what my phone bill is going to be for the calls and texts from Aruba. I had faith they would be in the mail and our mail comes pretty early. The only problem was, for the first time ever, there was nobody at the house to check the mail. After texting everyone I know I finally got neighbor Jessica to walk down the street to check our mail. By noon I had found out that I passed! Now I just have to start looking for a real job.
The End.
